Fleet Cleaner cleans world’s largest crane vessel

This March Fleet Cleaner has completed the cleaning of both floaters of Heerema’s semi-submersible crane vessel Thialf in the Port of Rotterdam. This was the first hull cleaning of the vessel since it went to dry dock six years ago. Due to the special construction of the Thialf, fouled areas such as the flat bottoms and the vertical side between vessel and quayside were hard to reach. However, both floaters have been successfully cleaned and it is expected that the fuel and emission savings are significant.
The environmental conditions during the cleaning operation were harsh, with temperatures going even below -10° C. Nevertheless, Fleet Cleaner delivered the hull cleaning of the Thialf and therefore proved to be able to clean any type of vessel while it is in port.
Fleet Cleaner’s diverless hull cleaning service is available 24/7 in all Dutch ports.
